Messiness
Born in the shadows of Milan’s fashion district, Messiness walks a deliberately unfashionable path. The band orbits around Sicilian polymath Max Raffa – musician, sociologist, and writer joined by sonic wanderers from the city's underground. Messiness crafts an explosive postmodern fusion where psychedelic rock collides with space-funk, free jazz interleaves with baroque pop and Canterbury sound meshes with art rock. Their distinctive Mediterranean spirit infuses the music with rich textures drawn from traditional Eastern Mediterranean sounds, creating an eclectic mix that defies any categorisation.
Their debut album, slated for autumn 2025, showcases their distinctive approach of merging retro influences into contemporary arrangements, where yesterday's sounds whisper to tomorrow’s ears.
